Soldotna resident Shirlene Mann Andrus died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010. She was 74.
A memorial service for Mrs. Andrus and her husband, Gary Von 'Trucky' Andrus, will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Marydale Avenue in Soldotna.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 at Holladay Memorial Park in Holladay, Utah.
Mrs. Andrus was born in Salt Lake City on June 12, 1936 to Newell and Helen Mann. She grew up in Salt Lake City and Holladay, Utah and graduated from Olympus High School in 1954.
On Feb. 4, 1955, she married Gary Andrus. In 1967 the family moved to Alaska, where they have resided since that time.
Mrs. Andrus was active in the LDS Church and has held many callings. She was a secretary and retired after many years as a school secretary at Soldotna High School.
Mrs. Andrus was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson William Daniel Andrus.
Mrs. Andrus was survived by her husband of 55 years, who died on Aug. 26, 2010.
Mrs. Andrus is survived by her sons, Michael and his wife, Marquitta, Dan and his wife, Sylvia, and Tony and his wife, Leigh; grandchildren Josh Smith and his wife, Crystal, Keaton and Aaron Andrus, Liam and Sarah Andrus, Tony and Randi Kaser; and great-grandchildren Haley, Kaitlyn and Makenna Smith; sister Roselyn Stratton; and brother N. Clynn Mann and his wife, Marilyn.
