The National Weather Service is warning residents of imminent flood danger in Cooper Landing and near Kenai Lake.
Rainfall on the east half of the Kenai Peninsula has brought river levels nearly to the bank edge. At Cooper Landing, the Kenai River had reached 12.8 feet by noon Monday, and rain was expected to continue throughout the week.
By Thursday night, water may start running over Primrose Road.
The flood warning is expected to remain in effect through at least 11 a.m. Sunday.
