Free cab ride to voters

Library commission meeting canceled

The Kenai Community Library Commission meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. today in the Kenai City Council chambers has been canceled. For more information, call 283-7535, ext. 231.

CIFF to meet today

The Cook Inlet Fisherman's Fund will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building. The meeting will discuss upcoming activities. All commercial fishers are encouraged to attend. For more information, call John at 567-3334.

Borough transportation meetings scheduled

The Kenai Peninsula Borough is in the process of updating its transportation plan and will hold a series public and advisory commission meetings on the peninsula. The public is encouraged to attend and bring ideas, concerns and give input on the boroughs proposed plan. The current draft for the transportation plan can be viewed at www.kpbtransplan.net.

Public meetings are scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds Community Hall; and from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Homer City Hall Council chambers.

The advisory planning commission meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. today in the Anchor River Inn dining room. For more information, call Leslie Robbins at (907) 644-2000 or Crista at 262-8637.

Parents support group to meet

A Parents Anonymous support group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bridges Community Center next to Buckets in Soldotna. There is no fee.

Flood workshop planned

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management will sponsor a fall flood workshop from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the Pacific Rim Institute of Safety Management on Marathon Road in Kenai.

The program is designed to inform members of the emergency management community.

Boys and Girls Club plans open house

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula will hold "Lights On Afterschool!" It is part of a nationwide event calling attention to after-school programs and the important role these programs play in the lives of children.

The Boys and Girls Clubs will host separate celebrations.
