California visitor thanks local community for help, hospitality

Posted: Thursday, October 07, 2004

This past May, I was in your lovely town for a couple of weeks to see my family. I was invited, by my sister, to go on a boat trip down the Kenai River. I was thrilled to be included with her, and members of her church. What a great time we had! Until toward the end of the trip, our canoe tipped over and into the icy water we went. I was shocked, scared, worried, and frozen! Afterward, I was very embarrassed, but we were safe!

This letter is to give a heartfelt thank you to EVERYONE involved, that helped my sister and me. Also to let you know I enjoy my visits in your town every time. It is a friendly, relaxing and, of course, a beautiful place to be.
