Community worship planned

The Nikiski Community Worship Service will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon today at Nikiski Middle-High School. A nursery will be provided.

Pingpong returns

Pingpong is available to play for free from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays through mid-December at Redoubt Elementary School on West Redoubt Avenue next to Soldotna Middle School.

Adults and children (at least 6 years old) and of any skill level are welcome.

Tables and equipment provided by the Boys and Girls Club and the school. Players are asked to bring a paddle if they have one. Supplies may be limited.

Honor choir to perform

Kenai Central High School will host the annual Kenai Peninsula Borough School District high school borough honor choir concert at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Renee C. Henderson Auditorium. The price of admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students and seniors.

Dr. Andre Thomas from Florida State University is the clinician. In addition to the choir's six selections under Dr. Thomas the concert will feature two local adult selections Audra Wasson Faris, soprano, will perform Schubert's 'Sheppard On A Rock" with Tammy Vollom-Matturro on clarinet and Maria Allison on piano and Erin Southwick will perform a selection by Burton, also accompanied by Maria Allison.

Gardeners to meet

The Central Peninsula Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road near the Bridge Access Road.

The topic will be compost and its benefits utilizing local fish byproducts and chipped beetle killed trees. Pete Keenan, president and partner with Fish & Chips compost business will be the featured speaker.

Bowling leagues forming

Winter bowling leagues are seeking members.

Women's leagues play Mondays and Fridays; mixed leagues play Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; scratch league plays Mondays; senior leagues play Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and youth leagues play Saturday and Sunday.
