Nikiski resident Edward Eugene Dillon Sr. died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna. He was 48.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Moose Family Center in Kenai. Please bring your favorite dish for the gathering to follow. His ashes will be scattered at his cabin at a later date. If you have any questions please call Ed Jr. at 907-529-5542.
Mr. Dillon was born May 8, 1962 in Anchorage. He lived in Alaska since 1962 living in Anchorage and Eagle River before making Nikiski, his final home. Edward was a commercial fisherman in Kenai's Northern District and was recently a door man at the Rainbow Bar in Kenai. He was a member of the Family Moose Center and was awarded Volunteer of the Year. Edward also volunteered for the Kenai Racing Lions. He loved fishing, hunting, poker, pool and Twin City Raceway Races.
He was preceded in death by his father, W.L. Dillon Sr. and his sister in-law, Christy Dillon.
He is survived by his sons, Ed "Bubba" Dillon Jr. of Anchorage, Ashley Gutierres of Anchorage and Sean Johnson and his wife, Heather of Oregon; daughters, Catie Dillon of Anchorage, Sacha Bragg of Wasilla and Jessica Womack of Anchorage; sister, TJ Nelson and her husband, Brian of Nikiski; brother, W.L. Dillon Jr. of Nikiski; mother, Joyce C. Dillon of Nikiski; niece, Pennie of Nikiski; nephews, Brian Jr., DJ, Willie and Robert Dillon all of Nikiski; extended family Thelma Nelson of Eagle River, Todd and Teresa Nelson of Nikiski; granddaughter, Marissa London of Anchorage; grandsons, Taylor and Andrew Bragg of Wasilla and his Alaskan family, Brad Conklin, J.C. Herbst, Kim Green, and many others throughout Alaska.
