Kenai Montessori School students are off to a great start. The September and October classroom theme is fall and trees. The students are able to identify the local trees by the type of leaves and have learned how important trees are to the environment.
Students are learning about the artist Van Gogh and have begun sign language. They also are learning the numbers one through 10 in four different languages.
The students are enjoying the music appreciation and movement classes held Tuesdays and Wednesdays with the two newest teachers, Tara Phillips and Katrina Carpenter.
Last Wednesday, the Montessori parents held their first monthly parent meeting. Afterward, they toured the school and saw the new additions to all three classrooms.
There are a few openings still available. Montessori classes are held five days a week, all year long. For more information, call 283-0424.
