Indiana college lands Pike as program coordinator

Kara M. Pike, a 1997 graduate of Kenai Central High School, has accepted the position of program coordinator of International Programs and Services at University of Southern Indiana.

Pike holds a masters degree in international affairs from Ohio University and is a summa cum laude graduate of Univer-sity of Evansville, where she earned a bachelor's degree in international studies, Spanish and mass communication.

Soldotna man attends national financial workshop

Soldotna Edward Jones financial services representative Indy Walton recently traveled to St. Louis, Mo., to meet with representatives from Lord Abbett.

The event, called "Business Development Workshop," brought together Edward Jones investment representatives who have achieved a certain level of success in the financial services business. The purpose of the gathering was to give these investment representatives an opportunity to discuss investment management with the portfolio manager and analysts of one of the largest money managers in the United States.

Edward Jones investment representatives regurlarly expand their knowledge of investments and other financial topics by attending seminars such as this one as they continue training throughout their careers.

Harbor Enterprises announces new marketing VP

Ken Bobbie, who brings 25 years of sales and marketing experience to the position, has been promoted to vice president of marketing for Harbor Enterprises Inc. and its subsidiaries. He replaces Tom Hunter, who retired on Sept. 30.

Bobbie joined the Seward-based petroleum marketing and distribution company in 1998 as marketing manager and has worked in petroleum marketing for the past 12 years.
