PALMER (AP) -- The Hatcher Pass-Summit Road has been closed for the winter, according to the Alaska Department of Natural Resources.
The road from the Palmer side at mile 17.5 over the pass to the Willow side at mile 20.5 was closed Sunday. It will reopen early July.
The portion of the road is within the Hatcher Pass East Management Area and is not maintained during the winter when it becomes hazardous.
