Two students hospitalized following school bus accident

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Two high school students were hospitalized Wednesday after the bus they were riding in got in an accident in Anchorage.

Police said the accident occurred at 7:16 a.m. on the Muldoon Road overpass at the Glenn Highway.

Police said the driver of a sport utility vehicle was trying to make an illegal left turn to head north on Muldoon and was being pressured by other drivers to move. The woman drove across Muldoon and the SUV was hit by a car. The bus then struck the car and ended up in a ditch.

Police said 28 students were aboard the bus. Two students were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A passenger in the SUV and the driver of the car also were injured. Their injuries were not life threatening, police said.
