Fall festival continues

The MoAdim Messianic Fellowship fall festival continues with a family retreat today through Oct. 19 for Sukkot. The cost is $75 per person for the weekend or $150 for the entire week. Everyone is welcome and children under 5 may attend free.

Native fellowship meets tonight

The North Wind Native Fellowship meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Friday of each month at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, Mile 19.5 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Every fourth gathering includes a Native potluck. Family and friends are invited to the interdenominational Native outreach. A children's ministry is provided for children in fourth grade and under.

Religious poetry contest held

A $1,000 grand prize is being offered in the New Jersey Religious Poets poetry contest with 50 prizes in all totaling $5,000.

The deadline for entering is Oct. 29.

Friendship closet open

The Aurora Heights Assembly of God "Friendship Closet" is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays to meet people's clothing needs.

The clothing closet is at the church on the corner of McGahan and Marie avenues, near Mile 27 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. For more information, call 776-8723.

Christian poetry sought

The Christian Fine Arts Society is offering a $1,000 grand prize in a special religious poetry contest, free to everyone. Fifty prizes will be awarded totaling almost $5,000.

To enter, send one poem of 21 lines or less to Free Poetry Contest, 9588 Thornbush Lane, Fishers, IN 46038. People also may enter online at www.freecontest.com. The deadline is Nov. 8.

Poems may be written on any subject as long as there is a spiritual reference. Entrants' names and addresses must appear on the page with the poem. A winners list will be sent to all who enter.
