Lori McLennan creates a new fine dining experience at the McLennan Supper Club.

Truly unique to the Kenai Peninsula is the new McLennan House Supper Club, “It’s something I’ve been dreaming about for years and now we’ll open starting Friday October 19th in my beautiful new kitchen at the McLennan House,” said Lori McLennan. Formerly Lori Chase of the Chase is Over catering and The Family Table, Lori’s culinary talents have become well known on the Kenai Peninsula. “Our idea was to create a fine dining experience slightly reminiscent of a Benihana table where people can watch me create their meal and I can watch them as they enjoy their dinner,” explained McLennan.

The new Supper Club will be open every Friday and Saturday night and will feature a prefixed menu each month, “Each month’s menu is designed with wine pairings so each course is inclusive with your dinner wine and after dinner cordials, and espresso. For example our October menu will feature champagne with pan-fried scallops in a cider-maple sauce, followed by a sauvignon blanc with a roasted autumn harvest soup and grilled pear-proscuitto salad, then our main course will feature a merlot with a roasted veal chop enrobed in rich demi glace on a bed of gorgonzola polenta, something you rarely see on the Peninsula, for the finish a Black Muscat to accompany a warm Chocolate Soufflé with Crme Anglaise, Cordials, Coffee, Espresso & Tea and all for $89 per person which is all inclusive and very affordable, we even include valet parking,” offered McLennan.

The dining experience at the McLennan Supper Club is limited to 10 people per night and will usually take anywhere between two-and-a-half and three hours with a cigar night being featured on Saturday nights, “My husband and I are definitely into cigars and we feel that the wine and food go really well with cigars so you can either bring your own or we can provide them for you on Saturday nights and Friday nights are reserved for non-cigar smokers,” said Lori. Additionally, assortments of fun non-alcoholic beverages are always available, but you must be 21 to attend the club. All ten seats may be reserved for holiday or special event parties or single or couple reservations are taken as available. “We all share one table dining experience, so you may invite your old friends or be sure to make some new ones before your evening ends,” added Lori. The McLennan Supper Club will be open anywhere between 4 to 6 weekends per month, to view the seating dates, see menu offerings, or get directions you may log on to www.mclennanhouse.com You must be 21 to make a reservation which are available by calling 283-5939 or by e-mail at SupperClub@alaska.net.
