League president to address chamber

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will hold its weekly meeting at noon today at Paradisos Restaurant in Kenai. The speaker will be Diana McKenney, president of the Alaska League of Women Voters. For more information, call 283-7989.

Candidates to address chamber

The Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce meets at noon today at the Anchor River Inn. House District 7 candidates Amy Bollenbach and Drew Scalzi will speak. For more information, call 235-2600.

Medicare presentation offered

Jan Nichols will lead a presentation on Medicare from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. The event is sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons, Pro-West, HCFA and the senior center and is specifically designed for people who are new to Medicare. Dance lessons offered

Square and line dancing lessons for beginners will be presented at 7 p.m. today at the Soldotna Senior Center. Cost is $2.50. For more information, call 262-9387, 260-2691, or 262-2322.

Council meets tonight

The North Peninsula Community Council will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Nikiski Senior Center. The council is trying to identify Nikiski area groups to help create an area action plan and to develop a vision and mission statement. All residents of the north peninsula are welcome. Hockey league needs skaters

The Rusty Blade Tier II Hockey League's season has begun. Games are Sunday, Monday and Wednesday at the Soldotna Sports Center. New players age 18 or older are welcome and needed, especially goalies. The league is an established league for beginner and intermediate skaters. For more information, call 262-0912.

PCI classes begin Monday

Registration is available for PCI Skill Resource Center classes, which begin Monday, on a number of topics, including computers, records management, electronic calculating, business math, business communications, interviewing, resumes and work experience. Wanted: Halloween costumes

Did you ever dress up for Halloween? The Peninsula Clarion is seeking fun photographs of kids in costume for an upcoming edition.

Submit your photos and print a brief explanation, the names of those pictured and a phone number and name of a contact person to Halloween Photos, c/o Peninsula Clarion, P.O. Box 3009, Kenai, AK 99611, or drop them by the Kenai or Soldotna Clarion offices.

Only photos with an address written on the back will be returned. E-mailed photos will not be accepted.
