ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A high school student was waiting for a city bus when someone from a passing car shot her in the head with a BB gun, Anchorage police said Thursday.
The 15-year-old girl was treated and released at the Alaska Native Medical Center for a puncture wound to her forehead.
She told police she was waiting for a bus on Bragaw Street at about 3 p.m. Wednesday with another girl when a dark sedan pulled up, stopped and someone fired several times at them.
The friend told police she saw a boy leaning out the right front window with a handgun and heard four or five popping sounds as she ran away.
Both girls took a city bus to the medical center. The girl, who is a student at East High, was treated and released.
The suspects are described as four or five Asian teen-age boys. The boy who fired the gun is reportedly about 17 years old, with short black hair that had reddish-blonde tips.
