Women of the Peninsula to attend conference

Posted: Thursday, October 11, 2001

The women of the Peninsula are planning to come together to change their world, according to organizers Janet Poppin and Trudy Andree of Soldotna. "Trudy and I had a vision for women coming together for some time of reflection, inspiration, biblical teaching and personal prayer," said Janet Poppin.

The vision was prompted by the success of the national ministries of two local women, JoAnne Meckstroth and Miriam Humphries, "Knowing these women personally, they come home and share what great things that God has grown in women all over the country. So we felt we wanted to facilitate them for the women of the peninsula," said Ms. Andree.

The event is scheduled to be held at the Soldotna Sports Center October 19th & 20th, "By gathering at the Sports Center, we'll be able to accommodate some 500 women, so space will not be an issue," added Poppin. Charlotte's Caf in Kenai will cater lunch. Registration is $35.00 and $11.00 for lunch, and is available at www.womenofimpact.com or by calling 262-6614.
