Volunteers, helpers saluted

Posted: Wednesday, October 11, 2006

The Central Peninsula Girl Scouts would like to thank Hutchings Chevrolet for the use of their tents, Coke Odom for our banner, city of Soldotna Parks and Rec for the use of Soldotna Creek Park and the VFW Auxiliary Ladies, Aribella Hetherton and Hedy Bodle, for flags on Flag Day.

Our appreciation goes out to Myla McFarland, Barbara Jewell and Kathleen Frame for telling us some local history of our area, and to our Studio2B girls, Abby, Megan, Marissa, Markayla, Makayla and Taren for helping with projects with the younger girls.

The event could not of happened without the support of parents and others, including Trena Glidewell and Mr. Bob, Kathy and Kahleb Johnson, Connie Ferguson, Grandma Patty and Liz Mullins.

My special gratitude goes out the leaders who planned, organized and put on this event — Catrina Warfield, Laura, Denise Barrett, Suzanne Martin, Barb Shipps, Venita Walker, our photographer, Joyce Cox, Girl Scouts field rep, and especially Krissy Mahan. Thanks you Girl Scout volunteers.
