Soldotna resident Barrie Lee Wilkins died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in Page, Ariz. He was 61.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Masonic Temple, 36081 Kenai Spur Highway, Soldotna. Mike Endsley will officiate.
Mr. Wilkins was born Nov. 21, 1938, in Hanford, Calif. He and his wife, Gwin, moved to Soldotna in 1985. Mr. Wilkins worked for the state of Alaska as a correctional officer and recently retired from that position.
Mr. Wilkins enjoyed his family, his dog Lazy, reading, fishing and cooking.
He was preceded in death by his brother Gene Wilkins; parents Arlington and Anna Wilkins; and daughter, Jane Squire.
Mr. Wilkins is survived by his wife, Gwin, of 29 years; sons Tony and his wife Leslie McGuire, and Ken of California; daughter, Debbie and her husband John, of Greenfield, Calif.; brother, Wesley Wilkins of Corcoran, Calif.; sister, Myrna Dunehew of Bakersfield, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Ruby Bishop and Geneva Stone, both of Soldotna; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements were made by the Bledsoe Funeral Home in California.
