Soldotna resident Connie L. (Henson) Lauria died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at her home. She was 46.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. today at the Soldotna Church of God. Pastor Alan Humphries will officiate.
Mrs. Lauria was born Nov. 30, 1954, in Bakersfield, Calif. She moved with her family to Alaska in 1958. She lived in Anchorage, Sterling and Soldotna. She worked as a keypunch operator at Central Peninsula General Hospital and later volunteered for the Thrift Store.
Mrs. Lauria enjoyed art.
"She was the kindest person we ever knew. She never had a bad word to say about anybody and was always an optimist," her family said. "She had a good sense of humor and was always smiling. She loved her children and was a wonderful mother, 'Dearma' and aunt. The 'C's' made her happy."
Mrs. Lauria was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Melissa Lauria and Chad Landry of Soldotna; daughter Natalie Lauria of Soldotna; son Joshua Lauria of Pasa Robles, Calif.; adopted son, Shaun Bohling of California; grandson, Seth Landry; mother, Irene Henson; brother Donald Henson of Kenai; brothers and sisters-in-law David and Annyce Henson, and James and Maureen Henson, all of Soldotna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the family at 303 W. Bering, Soldotna, AK 99669.
