Special guest to speak at service

The Rev. Herb Schaan will be the guest minister at the United Methodist Church of the New Covenant at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday.

Schaan is a retired Lutheran Missouri Synod minister who has served in Papua-New Guinea.

The church is next to the Kenai Boys and Girls Club on the Kenai Spur Highway.

Kenai Aglow to meet Monday

Dawn Mallette, vice president of Kenai Aglow, will be the guest speaker at the Monday meeting of the group. The meeting is at 7 p.m. at The Salvation Army Chapel , 201 N. Forest Drive in Kenai.

Mallette will speak about truth vs. reliance. For more information, call 262-2780.

Women's conference planned Oct. 19-20

Women of the Peninsula, a two-day conference presented by the Women of Impact Ministries, will be held Oct. 19 and 20 at the Soldotna Sports Center.

Guest speakers will be Joanne Meckstroth and Miriam Humphries. Other activities include inspirational music, biblical teachings, friendship building and personal prayer.

Fees are $25 before Saturday, plus $11 for lunch. The cost to register after Saturday is $35, plus lunch. For more information, call Trudy Andree at 262-6614.
