Longtime Alaska resident Kay Francis Carson died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Heritage Place in Soldotna. She was 62.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at Kalifonsky Christian Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road.
Mrs. Carson was born in Douglas, Wyo., on Nov. 30, 1940. She moved to Anchorage with her family in 1952 and periodically left the state with her first husband and children. She settled back down in Alaska in 1970, where she met Don Carson and married him in 1980. Over the years, Kay and her husband Don became well known small business owners on the Kenai Peninsula.
"Kay will be remembered for her unconditional devotion to her family, her church and many worthy charitable causes. She was a woman of tremendous faith and generosity and a gifted artist," her family said.
Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her father, Jess Willard Waldo, and stepfather, Stanley Brow.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Don Carson; mother, Doris Brow; stepmother, Dolores Waldo; children, Brad DeBellis, Judi Crawford, Brenda Scritchfield, Debbie Patterson and DeeAnn Baker; grandchildren, Michael, Alicia, Anthony, Tiffany, Carolee, Jennifer, Beth, Jessica, Janice, Lowell, Joshua, Melissa, Michael Paul, Kelsey, Christina, Nicholas, Matthew, Stephanie and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Erica, Malachi, Zoe, Domanic, Josh Jr. and Tyler; brothers, Sam, Jack, Bill and Ben; sisters, Cecelia and Karla; nieces and nephews and many faithful friends.
