Posted: Tuesday, October 12, 2004

Soldotna's Garrett Gardner was named the Northern Lights Conference Offensive Player of the Year Monday night.

Kenai, the conference champion, got one of the major honors. Kenai's Dakota Craig was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year.

The other big awards went to Soldotna, which will try and end Kenai's run of two straight small-schools titles Saturday. Dan Spindler was Lineman of the Year, Sarge Truesdell was Coach of the Year and Galen Brantley was Assistant Coach of the Year.

A complete story, as well as a complete list of the all-conference squad, will appear in Wednesday's Clarion.
