Flu shots available for seniors

The Kenai Public Health Center is encouraging senior citizens 65 and older and seniors who have heart and lung disease or diabetes to receive flu shots this week. Shots are available from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at the clinic and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Soldotna Elks.

Pastor to celebrate 20th year

Pastor Stuart and Orvada Churchill will celebrate their 20th anniversary of pastoring at the Kenai United Pentecostal Church with a series of meetings and special speakers beginning Wednesday and continuing through Sunday at the church. KPBA schedules meeting

The Kenai Peninsula Builders Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Froso's Restaurant in Soldotna. All members are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 283-871.

SoHi to hold open forum

The Soldotna High School PTSA in conjunction with the Soldotna Police Department will hold the first in a series of five presentations titled "Parents For Safe Communities" from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the teachers' lounge at the school.

A discussion on "Practical Jokes and Pranks, Where's The Line?" will be presented in an informal setting with an opportunity for questions and answers with the Soldotna Police Department. For more information, call Elizabeth at 262-5095 or Janelle at 262-1487.

Divorce support group forming

The Soldotna United Methodist Church is assisting with a formation of a divorce support group. The first meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. It will utilize the book, "Breaking and Mending," by Mary Lou Redding. The group is nondenominational. The public is invited. There is no fee. For more information, call 262-4657.

Community dance set

The Kenai River Folk Dancers will host a community dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Kalifornsky Beach Elementary School. The ContraBanD will provide the music. Participants should wear clean, nonmarking shoes and can bring potluck refreshments. The cost is $5. Admission for children 16 and under is free when they are accompanied by an adult.
