Health care to be discussed
The Central Peninsula League of Women Voters will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday in the home of Bonnie Heimbuch. Representative Sharon Cissna will discuss health care needs and alternatives for Alaskans. Teen nights slated
Two teen nights are planned from 8 to 10 on Friday and Oct. 28 at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Activities will include open gym, foosball, pool, pingpong, video games and movies. Ages 13 to 18 are eligible to attend. The cost of admission is $2 per participant. For more information, call 776-8800.
Girl Scout training, celebration set
n Central Peninsula Girl Scouts will offer new leader training at the Junior level from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Soldotna United Methodist Church. It is open to adults interested in learning about youth development for girls ages 9 to 11. There will be a lunch break.
n Girls Scouts will celebrate Girl Scout Founder's Day from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 22 at Solid Rock Bible Camp. Participants will be able to use the Hay Maze tunnel in the barn. The service unit will provide a birthday cake for Founder, Juliette Low at the event. This is open to all registered Girl Scouts ages 5 to 17. The cost is $5.

Community film night scheduled
The Kenai Peninsula College will host a community film night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the commons at the college. The public is encouraged to watch, think about and discuss the two film documentaries: "The Mystery of Chaco Canyon," a film about changes in time that eliminated an ancient people ( Robert Redford narrates); and "The Collector of Bedford Street," a true story of a man living in the West Village in New York City.
