Longtime Kenai resident Jackie Bierdeman died Monday Oct. 9, 2006, with her family by her side at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. She was 76.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the First Baptist Church at 12815 Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Ken Chadwick will officiate. She will be buried next to her husband Paul at Spruce Grove Memorial Park in Kasilof.
Mrs. Bierdeman was born Aug. 22, 1930, to Dallas and Zora Jones in Sebastopol, Miss. In 1948 she graduated from Sebastopol High School. In 1951 she moved Alaska where she lived Paxton, Big Lake and Anchorage. In 1968 she moved to the Kenai and Nikiski area. She worked at Alaska Video from 1985 to 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kenai.
Mrs. Bierdeman is preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Bierdeman; and daughter, Paula Ann Bierdeman.
She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Cary and Sheila Bierdeman of Kenai; son, John Bierdeman of Kenai; daughter and son in-law, Sherry and Ward Schneider of Soldotna; sisters, Shelton Underwood of Choctaw, Miss; Hazel Voge of Gadton, Ala. and Clarice Griffing and her husband, Lamar of Jackson, Miss.; sister in-law, Jean Jones of Huntsville, Ala.; granddaughters, Jessica Jones and her husband, Kevin of Wake Forest, N.C., Melissa Bierdeman of Wake Forest and Jordan, Hillary and Emily Schneider, of Soldotna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
