Former Soldotna physician, Dr. Michael J. Flannery, died at his home in Ronan, Mont., Friday, Sept. 24. He was 63.
Dr. Flannery was born on Feb. 7, 1947, in Grand Junction, Colo., to parents Leo and Mary Flannery. He lived in Soldotna where he practiced medicine from 1990-2001.
His family said he was the ultimate outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing excursions all over the world.
"You hurt so bad because you loved so deeply, and the pain you feel is a small price to pay for the privilege of having known him," the family said. "He will be truly missed and loved by his entire family, friends and the people that knew him best."
He was survived by his wife Dianna; his brother Gary and wife Linda; his sister Carolyn; sons Patrick, Ian, Forrest and Garrett; daughter Melissa; his four grandchildren, Alexis, Thomas, Zailey and Nathan; and his nephew Eric.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Mary Flannery.
