The end of the first quarter is rapidly approaching. Parents are urged to check the conference schedule in the school newspaper.

Mr. Leaf is the substitute for the fourth grade while Mrs. Copenhaver is on maternity leave. The fourth-grade students will be going to the hay maze at Solid Rock Bible Camp on Friday.

Miss Becky's preschool class is in need of old Reader's Digest magazines. These can be dropped off at the school's office.

Teachers will attend the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Convention on Oct. 21 and 22 in Anchorage. The school is accredited by ACSI as well as by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.

Student of the week awards go to Molly Shears, Matthew Daugherty, Makenna Rosin, Matthew Bevington, Mac Wynkoop, Adam O'Guinn, Owen Phillips, Lacey Cashman, Jung Lee and Jessie McNutt.

Senior Brian Beeson placed third in the state cross country championship. Overall, the cross country team had a successful season. The staff would like to thank coach Ted McKenney for another year of service to the school's running program.
