Time for Kids with Going Places Social Studies is available for $5. Scholastic Science World is available for $10 biweekly and Super Science for Kids is available for $6.50 monthly. Call Tanya to sign up.

The October home-school skate day is from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Alaska Great Skate in Soldotna. The cost is $4, which includes skate rental. The theme will be cowboy roundup days.

The hay maze will be available for home-school families from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Solid Rock Bible Camp. A bonfire and hot drinks will be provided. Sign up by calling or stopping by the office. The cost is $5 per person.

Field testing for grades four through eight will begin Oct. 26. Grades four, five and seven will do writing, sixth grade will do reading and eighth grade will do math. E-mails will be sent with dates and times or contact your adviser.

A "Pumpkins Gone Crazy" contest is open to all home-school families. Make your pumpkin (carved, scraped, painted, accessorized, etc.) and bring it to the office by Oct. 27. Pumpkins may represent a character, animal, vegetable or item. Prizes will be awarded Oct. 29. Categories are up to 4 years old, grades kindergarten through second, three and four, five and six, seven and eight, nine through 12 and adults.

Books have arrived for the fall book fair. The office has many reading books for all ages. Stop by the office soon for the best selection.

Battle of the Books teams are being formed. If you are interested, contact Doug for a kindergarten through second-grade team, Natalie for grades three and four, Terry for grades five and six, Tanya for grades seven and eight or Patti for high school.

A Comet Challenger mission will begin at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 11 for grades six through eight. Attendance at two classes prior to the mission are required. For more information, call Tanya.
