School rocks with help of community

Posted: Friday, October 13, 2006

Last year the Sterling Elementary PTA set a goal to buy our school a rock wall. This was a huge goal for us and initially we decided it would take us two years to raise enough money to be able to make this purchase. Thanks to the hard work of Dinah Mahan and Beth Braxling along with the generous donations from our community our rock wall has been purchased and is set to be installed in this fall!

On behalf of the PTA and all of our students at Sterling El. We would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for supporting our youth. Acapulco Restaurant, Alaska Railroad, Beemun’s, Beluga Bills, Blockbuster Soldotna, Blockbuster Kenai, Class Act, Columbia Paint, Davis Block and Concrete, Don Jose’s, 406 Sports Bar and Restaurant, GNC, Golden International Restaurant, Gottshalks, H2Oasis, Jitters Coffee, King Salmon Restaurant, Liquidation World, Lynden Transport, Magpye’s Pizza, Midas, Mike’s Welding, Ministry of the Living Stones, Mom and Dad Grocery, Moose River RV Park, North Country Fair, Oakes Enterprises, Penny Creates Perfect Cakes, Polar Gymnastics, Reindeer Pause, Sadler’s Home furnishings, Safeway, Soldotna Animal Hospital, Soldotna Pharmacy, Laura Steger, Sterling Auto, Sterling Community Club, Sterling Tool Rental, Steve Curtis, Suburban Propane, Subway, Dave Mason, Mike Taurianinen, and the Oakes family.
