JUNEAU (AP) -- A man was arrested after he threatened a couple with a hatchet during an altercation at an apartment complex early Thursday, Juneau Police said.

Mark Stoinich, 44, is charged with two counts of felony assault, police said. The man and woman, who were not identified, were not seriously injured, police said.

Stoinich allegedly brandished a hatchet after an argument escalated into a fight at about 6:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Coho Apartments, police said. Stoinich went to the parking lot to complain about the noise the man's car was making while it idled, police said.

Stoinich was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and then transferred to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
