Lake is backdrop for McKendry, Duncan wedding

Helene Duncan and Steven McKendry were married Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Johnson Lake Wayside in Kasilof. Allen McKendry, brother of the groom, of Depew, Okla., officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Gail Duncan of Anchorage and late Bill Duncan of Kasilof.

Helene was escorted down the aisle by her mother and 3-year-old son, Steven Ray.

The bridesmaids were Keri Collins Riley and Jennifer Showalter. Kaile Duncan and Michaela Shirnberg, nieces of the bride, were the flower girls.

The groom is the son of Don and Millie McKendry of Soldotna.

The groom's attendants were Jeff Williams and Tim Mycroft. Steven Ray was the ring bearer.

The bride is a 1989 graduate of Soldotna High School and employed at Central Peninsula Grace General Hospital in Soldotna.

The groom is a 1983 graduate of Soldotna High School and employed with Peak Oilfield Services.

The couple honeymooned with friends and family on Tustumena Lake. They live in Kasilof.
