Sterling seniors to hold benefit dinner Friday

The Sterlings seniors benefit dinner previously listed to be held Wednesday, will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the center. The evening's activities will include dinner, entertainment and prizes. The proceeds will benefit United Way. The cost for dinner is $10 for adults, $5 for children 3 to 12 or $30 for families of up to two adults and four children. For more information, call 262-6808.

KPBSD honor choir to preform today

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District High School Honor Choir will perform at 6 p.m. today at the Renee C. Henderson Auditorium at the Kenai Central High School. There is no fee for the 40 minute concert.

KPH to offers family services

The Kenai Public Health Center offers family planning services and STD testing and treatment. Kami Hutchings will be available for appointments today and Thursday. For more information, call 335-3400.

Kenai chamber to meet

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Wednesday at Paradisos. The United Way funding drive will be the featured topic. Lunch is $10.50, inclusive. For more information, call Colleen at 283-7989.

AARP to discuss medication issues

There will be a meeting of the local AARP members at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. The topic of discussion will be the rising cost of medication. The meeting is open to the public. For more information, call Vivian at 260-3966.

Homer theater to host chamber mixer

The Homer Theatre and the Kenai Peninsula Untied Way will co-host the Homer Chamber of Commerce mixer at 5:15 p.m. Friday at the theater. The evening's activities will begin with refreshments catered by Panarelli's, followed by the movie, "Matchstick Men," starring Nicholas Cage. Historical society to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society board of directors will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at the museum building on Centennial Park Road. The public is invited to attend. For more information, call 262-4157.

Unity Trail dedication planned

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the Unity Trail at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Kenai Eagles Club.
