Local soccer teams' strong play a credit to the community

On Saturday, Oct. 2, we went to Nikiski for the Kenai Peninsula Borough Middle School soccer tournament. Thank you, Kenai, Homer and Soldotna Silver and Maroon girls soccer teams. Saturday these girls played with great spirit. Mother Nature did not smile kindly on these teams. Bone-chilling, gusty winds raked the field; 34-degree temperatures chilled the air; biting, pelting rain soaked them to the skin this did not deter their play. As the field turned soggy, they slipped, fell, bounced and skidded, but continued to play awesome soccer. Congratulations to the Kenai girls soccer team on the winning the championship!

After watching these games, anyone who says girls are wimpy will have to anwer to these grandparents!

Great play ladies!!

Shelby's Grandparents,

Dave and Rose-Marie Daly
