Mr. Daniels' class is learning numbers in German. Students also are measuring the silt content in the Exit Glacier runoff each month.

First-graders continued their study of animals.

Open house for Title VII parents will be at 2:45 p.m. Thursday in Mrs. Reynolds' office. There will coffee, soda and cookies served.

The following K-Beach students participated in Mind-A-Mazes on Oct. 4: Jessie Duke, Madelynn Tice, Rachell Robson, Saraya Coburn, Matt Landess, Jesse Ellison, Steven Lawson, Clancy Skipwith and Jasmine Woodland.

The PTA thanks Charity Pipkin for all her hard work and effort last month with cardboard recycling. Mr. Steve reports that Charity made several trips to the landfill hauling cardboard, all with a baby and small children in tow.

The PTA also thanks Shelli and the Orca Theater staff for helping make this year's first SIGS movie a success. Also thanks to the teachers for being such good sports and braving the downpour.

The PTA will have a cookie dough fund-raiser the end of the month. Order forms will go home with students Oct. 24 and are due back Nov. 10. Cookie dough pick-up will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 18. This fund-raiser is to help raise money for a new reader board for the school.
