Seventh-grader Tyler Taplin recently auditioned with The Young Continentals and was accepted to participate in one of the group's singing tours scheduled for the summer of 2004. The Young Continentals use their music to disciple young people and to share the Gospel message.

The junior high cross country teams finished their season at the borough meet Oct. 4. Top 10 finishers for the girls' team were Brook Forsi, ninth place, and Holly Kopp, 10th. Top 10 finishers for the boys' team were Shane Moffis, eighth place, and Lucas Barkman, 10th. Thanks to Trish Kopp for excellence as a running coach, noble character and love for the teams.

The girls' volleyball team has its first home tournament Thursday.

The junior high basketball teams have games Thursday, Saturday and Tuesday.

Students of the Week are Tyler Fenton, Gracie Carroll, Patrick Michels, Adam O'Guinn, Ariana Tieaskie, Ellie Nelson, Chet Kimball, Michael Horton, Amie Smithwick, Lucas Barkman, Sadie Arneson and Tyler Taplin.

Parent-Teacher Fellowship is at 7 p.m. Monday.

There will be no school Oct. 23 and 24 due to teacher in-service.

The end of first quarter is Oct. 24. Parent-teacher conferences will be Oct. 30 and 31.
