Travel promotion offers awards
Travelers aboard the Alaska Marine Highway through Nov. 15 will qualify for this year's Sail Away Rebate awards.
To be eligible for the award, travel on the marine highway with a minimum itinerary value of $100 during the period and receive a travel rebate for a second trip between Dec. 1 and April 15, 2001.
Miss Alaska Teen search is on
The search is on for Miss 2001 Alaska Teen. This year's winner will receive a $30,000 scholarship from Johnson and Wales University and will represent the state of Alaska in the Miss 2001 United States Teen Competition July 12 through 21 in Orlando.

Red Cross offers emergency training classes
The American Red Cross will conduct a Shelter Operations class, followed by a Shelter Simulation class Saturday, starting at 9 a.m., at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Building assembly chambers.
This course prepares Red Cross and other agencies' staff to effectively and sensitively manage shelter operations as a team and to meet the needs of people displaced as a result of a disaster.
Introduction to Disaster Services and Mass Care, An Overview are prerequisites.

Volunteers are needed to work part-time with international teens from around the world. Pacific Interculture Exchange is in search of out-going, caring, responsible individuals to work with teens as representatives.
