CICADA to elect officers

Masters swim program planned
The Skyview pool will begin a masters swimming program from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays beginning next week. The season will run through December. Members will participate in a variety of ways from swimming laps to international competitions. The cost is $35 for the season. For more information, call Cathy at 262-3905.
Social Security reps to visit area
Social Security Administration representatives will be on the Kenai Peninsula from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Seward City Hall; from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Kenai City Hall; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Homer Senior Citizens Center. Peninsula women's group to meet
The Peninsula Take A Break group will host a dessert night from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Solid Rock Conference Center at Mile 90.5 on the Sterling Highway. Special guests are Greg Daniels of the Kenai Peninsula Photographers Guild and Steve Delisio, retired attorney and outdoorsman. The cost is $6 and includes child care. Domestic violence workshop set
The LeeShore Center will hold a community awareness workshop about domestic violence and sexual assault from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 through 28 at the center. The topics will be domestic violence, sexual assault, the effects of domestic violence on children, the center's batterer's intervention program and volunteering with shelter clients.
A continuing education credit may be attained after completion of the workshop and 30 hours of volunteer work with the center. It is open to the public. Participants may attend a portion or the entire workshop. For more information, call 283-9479.
