Denali Ice Club plans 'Will Skate for Food' event

Denali Ice Club Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing ice time and an abundance of performance opportunities for children in the sport and art of figure skating on the Kenai Peninsula.

For the past several weeks, the club has been fund-raising for its current 2001-2002 season. Through the generosity and kindness you have shown, we have begun another great season.

Denali students, their parents and the board of directors would like to sincerely thank all those who graciously supported us in our efforts. We would like to attribute the forthcoming year's projects to your generosity.

We would like to invite all peninsula residents to our first skating event of the season. "Will Skate For Food," an evening of figure skating benefiting the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank, will be Nov. 8. Admission is a canned or dry food item at the door.

Again, thank you for your kindness and interest.

Community support helps raise funds for center carpet

Wings Christian Academy would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their continued educational support of the youth in our community: Arby's, Godfather's, Beemun's, Carrs/Safeway, Thompson Gifts, Kenai Blockbuster, Subway, Dairy Queen, Karen Burger and Wilda Bush.

These businesses provided prizes and rewards for students participating in Wings Walk-a-Thon 2001. Thanks to their support the students were able to raise needed funds to purchase new carpet for our learning center! Thank you!
