After several weeks of bringing the road up to paving grade, an Alaska Road Builders crew lays down a thick coat of paving asphalt on Edgington Road along the east side of Longmere Lake in Sterling recently. The road is named for Lyle Edgington, the 1948 homesteader who originally pushed the road 1.8 miles in from the Sterling Highway to his homesite on the south shore of the lake. Edgington still resides in a lakefront home there.
