Editors train ministers

The Regular Baptist Press editing staff will conduct an Impact Training Conference at Sterling Baptist Church from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday.

The conference is for pastors and their spouses, Sunday school teachers, youth leaders, vacation Bible school workers, children's church workers, Bible study leaders and anyone involved in their church's ministry.

Religious poetry contest announced

A $1,000 grand prize is offered in the New Jersey Religious Poets poetry contest with 50 prizes in all totaling $5,000.

To enter, send one poem only of 21 lines or less to Free Poetry Contest, 103 N. Wood Ave., PMB 70, Linden, NJ 07036, or enter online at www.rainbow poets.com.

The deadline for entering is Oct. 29.

Clothes2Go open Wednesdays

The Inlet Faith formerly Aurora Heights Assembly of God Clothes2Go is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays to meet people's clothing needs.

Clothes2Go is at the church on the corner of McGahan and Marie avenues, near Mile 27 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. For more information, call 776-8723.

Christian poetry sought

The Christian Fine Arts Society is offering a $1,000 grand prize in a special religious poetry contest, free to everyone. Fifty prizes will be awarded totaling almost $5,000.

To enter, send one poem of 21 lines or less to Free Poetry Contest, 9588 Thornbush Lane, Fishers, IN 46038. People also may enter online at www.freecontest.com. The deadline is Nov. 8.

Poems may be written on any subject as long as there is a spiritual reference. Entrants' names and addresses must appear on the page with the poem. A winners list will be sent to all who enter.
