Wheelchairs sought

The Independent Living Center is seeking new or used manual wheelchair donations. For more information, call Adam at the center at 262-6333.

Basketball camp scheduled

North Peninsula Recreation and the Nikiski High School basketball team are sponsoring a Youth Basketball Camp from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Nikiski Middle-Senior High School gymnasium. Children in grades three through six are eligible to attend. The cost is $15 per student. For more information, call 776-8800.

LeeShore membership meeting slated

The LeeShore Center will hold its annual membership meeting at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. It is open to the public. For more information, call the center at 283-9479.

Home school fellowship planned

The Nikiski Homeschool Fellowship will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Lighthouse Community Church. Meetings are designed to offer support of home school parents. Topics will change monthly. For more information, call Heidi Hall at 776-5104 or Hara Hansen at 776-3415.

Foster care presentation to be discussed

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Office of Children Services will hold a monthly Resource Family Orientation from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at 145 Main St. Loop in Kenai. This informational session provides interested individuals a brief overview about the state's foster care and adoption programs and process. It is open to the public. Prevention coalition to meet

The Community Action Coalition for Prevention will hold a board of directors meeting at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Kiska Room at 245 Binkley St. in Soldotna. The meeting is open to the public.
