Wanted: Kids in costumes

Did you ever dress up for Halloween? The Peninsula Clarion is seeking fun photographs of kids in costume for an upcoming edition.

Submit your photos and print a brief explanation, the names of those pictured and a phone number and name of a contact person to Halloween Photos, c/o Peninsula Clarion, P.O. Box 3009, Kenai AK 99611 or drop them by the Kenai or Soldotna Clarion offices.

Only photos with an address written on the back will be returned. E-mailed photos will not be accepted.

American Red Cross offers courses

The American Red Cross is offering an orientation course today at 1 p.m. "ARC 3068-I, Mass Care, an Overview," will be presented at 6 p.m. Thursday. ARC 3068-I is a prerequisite for a shelter operations class Saturday. All classes will be held in the Kenai Peninsula Borough Building. Hospital service board meets tonight

The Central Kenai Hospital Service Area Board will hold its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. today in the Iliamna Room of Central Peninsula General Hospital. For more information, call 283-2333 or 262-9892.

Hospice orientation program offered

Hospice of the Central Peninsula will conduct an annual orientation from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight through the Soldotna Community Schools. Topics of discussion will include the history and concepts of hospice care, end of life issues, and stages of death and dying. The orientation is required for those wishing to continue with hospice direct care training to be held on Saturday as well as Oct. 25, Nov. 4 and Nov. 15. Prescreening for potential volunteers will take place tonight at the orientation. For more information, call 262-0453.

Free business seminar offered

The Business Opportunities Network will hold a free session today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Attorney Charles Winegarden will discuss legal formats for establishing small businesses and other start-ups. For more information, call 260-2663.

Basketball registration deadline Thursday

The deadline for registering for the Kenai Parks and Recreation Department men's and women's city league basketball program is Thursday. Anyone interested in playing, score keeping or officiating must register. For more information, call 283-3855.

Immunization Clinic canceled

The Kenai Public Health Center immunization clinic on Oct. 25 has been canceled.
