Rehearsal for Mozart concert set for tonight

Posted: Thursday, October 18, 2001

The first vocal rehearsal of the Mozart Requiem for the Kenai-Soldotna area will be at 7 tonight in room 124 of Kenai Peninsula College.

The presentation of the Mozart Requiem is a joint project of Pier One Theatre (through the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra) and the Homer High School Concert Choir under the direction of Mark Robinson. A peninsula-wide Community Choir is being formed to sing along with the HHS students.

There will be two performances the first weekend in April, one at the Homer Mariner Theatre and one at the Kenai Central High School auditorium.

The following week interested students and adults will travel to New York City to perform in Carnegie Hall with groups from around the country.

Mark Robinson, director of the project, and Laura Norton, KPO manager, will be at tonight's rehearsal to discuss the details.

If you are interested in participating but can't make the rehearsal, call Norton at 299-2453, particularly if you think that you want to travel to New York City.

The deadline for registration for this trip is Oct. 25.
