Just when you think you have experienced the very best there is, this wonderful surprise: the wonderful Tesoro refinery employees under the guidance of Steve Hansen. We at the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank the board members, employees, and I wish to convey our gratitude for the work performed at our facility during the United Way Day of Caring on Sept. 18. Employees served lunch, painted, installed Christmas lights, cleaned, installed carpeting, repaired garden netting and performed general maintenance jobs. We are very grateful for their support now and throughout the year.
We want to thank Dan Mortenson of Four D Carpet, who generously provided the carpeting installed in our reception area. This area is now easier to keep clean.
We take our 19-year mission of "No one deserves to be hungry" very seriously and are continually striving to reach any who are hungry and equitably distribute our warehoused food for the most impact on hunger on the Kenai Peninsula from Seward to Homer.
