Winter Kickoff Extravaganza coming

The Tsalteshi Trails Association, along with Soldotna Community Schools, will hold its annual Winter Kickoff Extravaganza Nov. 2 at Skyview High School.
The event is free and is open to the public.
The extravaganza begins at 4:15 p.m. with an orienteering event. No compass is necessary, but snowshoes or skis are necessary if there is snow.
At 6 p.m. there will be a potluck dinner. The dinner will be followed by a Tsalteshi Trails Association meeting at 7 p.m.
An area ski-gear representative also will be available to answer questions about poles, skis, bindings and clothing.
