Women's conference starts today

Women of the Peninsula, a two-day conference presented by the Women of Impact Ministries, will be held today and Saturday at the Soldotna Sports Center. Guest speakers will be Joanne Meckstroth and Miriam Humphries. Other activities include inspirational music, biblical teachings, friendship building and personal prayer.

Meeting to discuss prophecies scheduled

A meeting to discuss how Rev. 12:17 was fulfilled and how to stop and change bad prophecies such as "666, the mark of the beast" will be held today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Trumpeter Apartments, No. C7, in Soldotna. For more information, call Ruthie Bedwell at 260-8044.

Clothing shop open Saturday

The New 2 U Clothing Ministry will be open Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at 119 Little Ave. in Soldotna. There are clothes for children, women and men. They are free to those in need. Lay leader to lead Methodist church service

This Sunday is Laity Sunday in the United Methodist Church. The lay leader of the United Methodist Church of the New Covenant in Kenai, Randall Pippin, will lead the 11 a.m. worship service and provide the message.

The church is in Kenai next to the Boys and Girls Club on the Kenai Spur Highway. Services are open to the public.

Concert, guest speaker planned Thursday

There will be a concert by Mike Lyons Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Birchridge Community Church, which meets at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center. Wayne Wingfield will be the guest speaker after the concert.

Services will continue Oct. 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. For more information, call 283-9231 or 283-0292.

Kids Harvest Carnival scheduled Oct. 31

Kenai New Life Assembly of God Church in Kenai will host its annual Harvest Carnival for ages 3 to 11 on Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. Games, food and prizes are planned.
