Parents are encouraged to vote in the site council parent representative election. Ballots were sent home in Friday's newsletter and are available at the school office. Ballots must be received at the school office by 4 p.m. Thursday.
Due to the in-service day Friday and parent conferences on Oct. 28-29, there will be no school newsletter for two weeks. The next newsletter will be sent home Nov. 5.
The annual Halloween parade will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in the gym. Classroom teachers will advise parents and students regarding any classroom Halloween activities.
Parent-teacher conferences are being scheduled. Parents are asked to return their scheduling form if they haven't already done so.
Parent volunteers are needed to help with Project Reward movie-popcorn parties Nov. 1. Grades four through six will have their movie from 9 to 11 a.m. and grades kindergarten through third from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Interested parents are asked to call the office.
Halloween Family Reading Night will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27. Students and their families are invited to wear costumes and attend. There will be special guest readers and refreshments and the book fair will be open. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders will take academic assessment field tests Monday and Tuesday. Parents are reminded that students can do their best on test days and every school day if they get plenty of rest, eat breakfast and arrive at school on time.
