Hockey begins this week.

The cross country banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library. The football banquet will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday in the commons.

There is no school Friday.

The volleyball teams are off to the Mat-Su borough playing Palmer on Friday and Colony on Saturday.

Wrestling begins Monday. Parents and students are reminded that the student must have a physical before they can practice. the same goes for basketball, which begins Nov. 29.

Last week, Ty Handley of Sterling was the guest speaker in Mr. Carey's U.S. history class. The Handley family homesteaded in Sterling. Handley brought in pictures and shared knowledge of that time period. His presentation was arranged by a student in conjunction with studying the Homestead Act. U.S. history students are working on their quarter final exam, which is a historical biography of an adult in the community. Most student are doing parents or grandparents.
