Halloween comes early to Kenai

The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3525 will host two Halloween parties Saturday at the aerie at 5765 Kenai Spur Highway Kenai. A children’s party will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. games, prizes, and candy are some of the planned activities. An adult party for members and guests will begin at 7 p.m. Karaoke singing, a potluck, and a costume contest are some of the planned activities. For more information, call the aerie at 283-4938.

Lifeguard class planned

The Nikiski Pool will offer a lifeguard class Thursday through 29 at the Nikiski Pool. Participants must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class.

The fee is $125 per participant and includes the training book. Class size is limited. For more information and class times, call Nigel at 776-8800.

NRA fundraiser takes aim

The Friends of the NRA will host its annual banquet and auction at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai. Proceeds will be given to groups to promote firearm safety on the peninsula. Tickets are available at Gator Guns, The Impact Area and by calling 776-7676.

Halloween carnival set to spook

The Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna will hold a Halloween carnival from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31. Bring canned food items to the Buck Buck Buck Store for tickets to be used for various carnival games and events throughout the mall. Triumvirate Theatre will have a haunted house for $3 at the door. Halloween party set for fun

Decanter Inn RV Park will host a Haunted Swamp for children in the Kasilof community at 5 p.m. Oct. 31. Candy and prizes are some of the planned activities. For more information, call Robin Williams at 262-5917.

Harvest festival set to entertain

Kenai New Life Assembly of God Church will hold a harvest festival from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. Games, candy, food, cake, walk and jumping balloon castle are some of the planned events. Tickets are .25 each and will be available at the door. For more information, call 283-7752.

Sports swap gears up

Kenai Sports Swap will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4 in the lunch room at Kenai Central High School. Items may be dropped off from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in the lunch room. Waxing will be available. For information, call Larry or Susan Semmens 262-9022.

Dinner theater set

The Kenai Peninsula State Fair will host a dinner theater performance at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the fair grounds in Ninilchik. Ticket prices are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. For more information on the menu, play or to make a reservation, call 567-3670. Family packages also are available.
