Soldotna residents Dale E. and Camille Morris died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, near Albany, New Hampshire. They were 55 and 58 respectively.
A viewing will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at the Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ at the corner of Murray Lane and Dudley Ave. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow the services at the family cemetery. Pastors Buck and Alice Martin will officiate.
Rev. Morris was born March 10, 1952, in San Diego, Calif. She moved to Alaska in 1979. She was the Assistant Pastor and Music Director at the Church.
Mr. Morris was born June 6, 1955, and raised in Anchorage. He worked for A.E.S. Alaska, Inc. at Kuparuk. He was also active in church and the Sunday School Bus Route Coordinator for the church.
Camille was preceded in death by a son, David Alan Thorpe. She is survived by her parents, Buck and Alice Martin of Soldotna; daughter, Rebekah Thorpe-Mayes of Dallas, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Rachel Suzanne Thorpe; granddaughters, Isabelle Camille and Madelynn Suzanne Thorpe all of Soldotna; brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Joanne Reed of Soldotna; sister and brother-in-law, Cherie and Steve Garrett of Davis, Calif.; nieces, Leah Reed of Soldotna, Sarah Garrett of Davis, Calif., and nephews, Daniel Grilley of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Stephen Grilley of Sacramento, Calif., and David Garrett of Davis, Calif.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Vellemonte Henry Morris. He is survived by mother, Daisy Glover, and her husband, Fred Glover; sister and brother-in-law, Daisy and Jim Payne, all of Anchorage; brother, Irv Morris of Anchorage; nephews, Steven and David Payne, both of Anchorage and Matthew Morris of Carson City, Nev.; and niece, Tracy Morris of Carson City, Nev.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
