Candidate forum planned at chamber lunch

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will hold its luncheon at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House. The topic will be a House District 33 candidate forum.

Chamber goals are topic in Kenai

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon is at noon Wednesday at Paradisos. Chamber President Cherie L. Brewer will lead a round-table discussion outlining the chamber's future goals and will introduce the candidates for chamber board of director elections.

Musical entertainment will be provide by Grandma's Hope Notes. The luncheon is $10.50 inclusive and is open to the public.

Center to offer video program

The Kenai Peninsula Community Care Center is offering the innovative video-based program "Active Parenting of Teens." The program will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will meet each Friday for eight weeks starting Friday at Central Peninsula General Hospital in the Iliamna room.

The program will include scenarios relevant to teen issues, professionally led group discussion and support, and practical and effective ideas for raising teens in today's world.

It also will address effective communication, importance of relationship development between parent and teens, alcohol, substance abuse and sexual behavior.
